	Plot	Dukes Mayo Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game currently features a matchup between the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). A new college football based bowl game in Charlotte, North Carolina was established in 2002 by Raycom Sports. The game was certified by the NCAA as the Queen City Bowl and was previously known as the Continental Tire Bowl (2002–2004) and the Meineke Car Care Bowl (2005–2010).The game previously featured a matchup between the #5 selected Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) team and the #3 selected American Athletic Conference (AAC) (originally the bowl selected a team from the Big East Conference, until the conferences breakup in 2013). In 2011, Charlotte-based department store chain Belk acquired the title sponsorship, initially for a three-year period which was to last through 2013. After the initial period, Belk announced a six-year extension of its sponsorship, through 2019. Concurrent with Belks sponsorship extension, the bowl will feature the 2nd pooled selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) paired against the 2nd pooled selection in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) after the College Football Playoff (CFP). In June 2020, Dukes Mayonnaise was announced as the new title sponsor for the bowl.

	Plot	The Holiday Bowl is a post-season NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football bowl game that has been played annually since 1978 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California, United States. Since the 2014 edition, it has featured Pacific-12 and Big Ten teams. The Holiday Bowl was founded to give the Western Athletic Conference an automatic bowl bid after the Fiesta Bowl, which previously had a tie in with the game, ended its association with the WAC after Arizona and Arizona State (the latter of which served as the games host) left the conference to join the Pacific-8 Conference in 1977. Thus, the Holiday Bowl inherited the Fiesta Bowls former WAC ties and gave the conferences champion its automatic bid. For the first several years, the WAC champion played an at-large team in the Holiday Bowl. Beginning in 1986 and continuing until 1994, the Big Ten Conference was given the second bid provided it had enough bowl eligible teams.

But in 1996, he left the program to become head coach of the Miami Dolphins; Ronnie Lott was brought in to succeed him, and stayed with the program for two seasons.
